10th Annual Broome County Book Recycling Fair 2008
at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County
Volunteers are needed!
3-hour shifts each day: 9 am-12 pm and 12 pm-3 pm.
Aug. 14, 15 and 16 (Thurs., Fri. and Sat.) – Lifters, sorters and traffic control
Aug. 18, 19 and 20 (Mon., Tues. and Wed.) – Sorters and set up for give away days
Aug. 22 and 23 (Fri.and Sat.) – Checkout table and lifters for restocking tables

- White, colored notebook and fax paper

- - All Cardboard Boxes
- Pizza boxes
- Corrugated boxes (wavy middle layer)
- Single layer cardboard (cereal boxes)

- Milk and juice cartons

- Clear, brown and green (jars and bottles only)

- - No Plastic Bags / No Styrofoam

DROP-OFF ONLY
- MOTOR OIL AND ANTIFREEZE
- 5 gallons per person per visit or take to any oil change service station
- BATTERIES
- Lead acid batteries
- All household batteries
- If leaky or corroded, please place in plastic bag

Materials accepted at drop-off sites include all materials listed on this page plus household batteries. (Used motor oil and auto fluids can be recycled at the Broome County Landfill drop-off only).

NOTE: Batteries should be kept dry. If you have leaky or corroded batteries, please place them in a plastic bag before depositing them in the drop-off container.
Material Exchange Program
Broome County is excited to be a partner of the MAT-EX Western/Central NY Materials Exchange Program. Mat-ex is a reuse program that provides opportunities for material exchanges to be made therefore keeping non-hazardous, reusable materials out of the landfill. Materials are listed under two categories: wanted and available.
