B.C. Executive Fiala Joins Spiedie Fest Opening Night Festivities
BINGHAMTON, NY - Broome County Executive Barbara Fiala will join Spiedie Fest organizers and sponsors Friday night, August 5th at 6PM for the opening night kickoff of the 21st Annual Spiedie Fest and Balloon Rally Expo.
The event is taking place in Broome County's Otsiningo Park. The park opens to Spiedie Fest visitors on Friday at 3PM. The opening ceremony begins Friday at 6pm. The first balloons will launch, weather permitting, around 6:30PM. Lou Gramm of Foreigner will perform at 7PM and the night will be topped off with what organizers call one of the largest fireworks displays in Broome County history.
"I have been involved with the Spiedie Fest since the early years when I used to deal with the pilots and at one point I stuffed t-shirts into bags," said Barbara J. Fiala, Broome County Executive. "It is now such a pleasure for me to participate in the opening night festivities as Broome County's Executive and to be able to show off one of our most precious resources, Otsiningo Park."
Spiedie Fest runs August 5th, 6th and 7th. Parking is available at Broome Community College for $3 a car. A three day pass into the festival is $12 or daily passes are $5. Children under 10 are free.
