"The Search For Alexander" Is Revealed At The Broome County Public Library
BINGHAMTON, NY - Alexander the Great, one of the most compelling figures of the ancient world, will be brought to life in a poster format exhibit and lecture series at the Broome County Public Library Monday, November 10th through Saturday, November 29th.
Artifacts believed to have come from the tomb of Alexander's father, King Philip II of Macedonia will introduce viewers to Alexander and the Hellenistic world. In addition guest lecturer Gerald E. Kadish, Ph.D., Professor of Ancient History, Egypt at SUNY Binghamton will encourage visitors to reflect upon modern notions of leadership and power in his topical presentation on Wednesday, November 19th at 7:00 p.m. in the G. Clifford and Florence B. Decker Community Room at the library.
"The Search for Alexander" is the third and final exhibit procured from the Texas Council for the Humanities Resource Center to be displayed at the Broome County Public Library. Beginning in September visitors to the library were able to enjoy the "Treasures of Tutankhamun" followed by the exotic splendor of feudal Japan displayed in "The Shogun Age". The exhibits and Dr. Kadish's lectures are presented by Friends of the Broome County Public Library.
