Broome County Officially Opens Otsiningo Park Trail Extension

BINGHAMTON, NY - Broome County Executive Jeff Kraham hosted the Grand Opening Ceremony of the Otsiningo Park Trail Extension at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 7, 2003 at Otsiningo Park North (located on Howell Drive, off Upper Front Street, near Northgate Plaza).

New York State Senator Thomas Libous, Town of Chenango Supervisor Margaret Turna, Broome County Parks and Recreation Commissioner William Barber, as well as other state and local honored guests joined County Executive Kraham in celebrating the completion of the Otsiningo Park Expansion and Enhancement Project. "It is only through the cooperation and collaboration of multiple government agencies and many individual workers that this project was made possible," County Executive Kraham said.

The Otsiningo Park Expansion and Enhancement Project adds an additional 1.5 miles of trail to the existing system and provides 5 new soccer fields to the 4 that originally existed. The park now boasts a total of 9 soccer fields available for play. In anticipation of the increased traffic at the expanded park 220 new parking spaces have been added as well as additional roadways.
