Northwest Airlines Expands Service Between Detroit and Binghamton
Jet Service Begins March 2, 2003

DETROIT, MI - Northwest Airlines announced today upgraded service between Binghamton, New York, and its Detroit hub. Effective March 2, 2003, Northwest will replace two of the four 34-passenger Saab 340 turbo-prop airplanes with new 50-passenger Canadair Regional Jets (CRJ). The CRJ features a spacious cabin with comfortable two-by-two leather seating and other cabin amenities similar to much larger jets, such as overhead bins, a galley, lavatory, and an efficient climate control system to ensure passenger comfort. Northwest’s WorldGateway at Detroit provides travelers with seamless, quick and easy connections to over 130 destinations worldwide. The WorldGateway offers amenities such as fully integrated domestic and international arrivals and departures, and fully enclosed, climate controlled, passenger jetbridges for every type of aircraft it operates. "Commitment to providing travelers of the Greater Binghamton Airport with reliable, well priced air service has been a priority of Northwest Airlines for the past ten years," said Brome County Executive, Jeffrey P. Kraham. "By upgrading to regional jet service Northwest is demonstrating its continued confidence and commitment to the Greater Binghamton Area and its travelers." The flights are open for sale immediately. For reservations, customers can visit www.nwa.com, call Northwest Airlines Reservations at 1.800.225.2525 or contact their travel agent.
