Broome County Calls Attention To STOP-DWI Message
BINGHAMTON, NY - Broome County Executive, Jeff Kraham today announced that December is Drunk and Drugged Driving Prevention Month and urged everyone to use common sense and take responsibility when celebrating this holiday season.
"With the increased enforcement and greater public awareness of the dangers of drunk driving, Broome County has dramatically reduced the number of personal injury and fatal crashes due to impaired driving. However, DWI remains a serious problem and that's why I am calling upon everyone to use common sense and take responsibility if your celebrations include alcohol," said Mr. Kraham.
"If you're celebrating this holiday season plan ahead, elect a designated driver or simply call a cab if you feel you've had too much to drink. To avoid driving drunk is a matter or common sense," said Jim May, Broome County STOP-DWI Coordinator.
"When you are out with friends and family it is up to everyone to take responsibility. If a friend has had too much to drink make sure you look out for him/her - take their keys and get them a safe ride home," said the County Executive.
