Tax Collection

The Broome County Office of Real Property Services has worked with the Inter-Governmental Relations Committee of the County Legislature to consolidate the collection of real property taxes in an effort to reduce the operating costs of those collections. Since 1998, the Broome County Office of Real Property Tax Services has collected property taxes for the Town of Union. Since January 2003, the RPTS has been performing this same service for the Town of Dickinson. In January 2005, the RPTS began collecting property tax for the Town of Conklin.

Effective September 1, 2006, Broome County Real Property will collect taxes for the City of Binghamton and the Binghamton City School District.

Payments by mail for Binghamton City School District and for the City of Binghamton are sent directly to:

In person payments may be made at the Real Property Tax office as well as at offices within each town for the convenience of the taxpayer. Payments may be made by personal or bank check or in cash; cash payments should be made in person only and not sent through the mails.
