Passengers with disabilities are required to obtain a new Broome County Person with Disability Photo Identification card by August 1, 2011.
Patrons in need of these new cards are to visit the Broome County Security Office, located on first floor of the Broome County Office Building, 44 Hawley St, Binghamton, NY. The office will accept requests for new cards Monday through Wednesday from 8AM to 12PM.
Before going to the Broome County Security Office to receive your new card, please bring the following:
1) Legal photo identification, and;
2) Documentation from your medical professional indicating if you disability is permanent or temporary, or;
3) Documentation from the Social Security Administration showing you are in receipt of a benefit.
The Security Office will take your picture for the new card and ask you for your current address, phone number and Social Security number.
Please be advised that should you lose this card, there is a $10 replacement fee.
You will not need to obtain a new card if you have one of the current cards listed:
1) BC Lift card
2) Medicare card
3) Office for Aging card showing you are age 65 or over.
